WUIG Sponsorship Day 2017

OA’s new holiday, Sponsorship Day, was created to encourage us to celebrate the joy of recovery and the gift of sponsorship together – worldwide – on the 3rd Saturday in August each year.

Join with your fellow area OA members at WUIG’s first Sponsorship Day event on August 19, from Noon-3:00 p.m. at:

For a speaker meeting, a bring-your-own brown bag picnic lunch (including your blanket/chair, etc.), and a guided tour of the home where they lived from 1941 until their deaths.

Attendance is limited to the first 45 members to purchase tickets before July 29; no tickets can be sold on the day of the event.

The $15 registration price includes ice, beverages and the suggested $10 donation to Stepping Stones.

Who: YOU and all OA fellows seeking guidance and inspiration as we walk the road to recovery

What: These practical, how-to workshops feature speakers with sustained recovery; question and answer periods; breakout groups for intimate discussions and sharing; writing and personal reflection; whole group sharing and discussion; breaks to enjoy fellowship and make connections

Where: YWCA at 515 North Street, White Plains

When: Sundays, 2 – 5 pm on the following dates:

  • May 21st – Abstinence Made Simple

  • September 17th – Spirituality Made Simple

  • December 3rd – Service Made Simple

Why: Jump-start your program or kick it into a higher gear

WUIG Announces Retreat Opportunity for Commuters

Lodging is sold out for the upcoming retreat, A Weekend Walk Through the Steps, being held in Holmes, NY, April 21-13, 2017.

The weekend, led by a longtime member who has led similar retreats across the US and Canada, covers all the Steps, plus sessions on Staying Out of Relapse and Breaking Out of Relapse.

To increase opportunities for more OA members to participate, WUIG is opening the retreat to Commuters.
